This week I spoke with Riley Kirkpatrick, a peer counselor from Alliance Recovery Center, a medically assisted treatment facility here in my town. After speaking with Dave from the Dopey Podcast (Episode 30) and Christian Lembach (Episode 27), I thought it might be good to have a guest who could fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge of treatment options for people coming off of opiate addiction. We talked about Harm Reduction, how opiate receptors in the brain affect recovery, and Riley's own history as a recovering addict.
